The members of the three-person elections board are appointed by the Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners to serve terms of four years. Election judges shall be qualified voters of the Town; they shall not hold a Town office or become candidates for any elected office of the Town. One alternate member shall be appointed by the Town Commissioners. That alternate may be empowered to act, should a regular election judge be absent on Election Day, according to the Town code.
Members receive compensation for service on Election Day and any other day election judges are called to work, as determined by the Town Commissioners.
