6-7pm Lesson Description:
East Coast Swing is a fun, upbeat dance, distinguished by its "rock step" and swing hip motion. We will be covering both single time east coast swing and introducing triple step east coast swing. You will learn basic turns, leading and following.
The Foxtrot is a smooth dance where the dancers travel across the dance floor. The long walking movements contribute to the iconic sway motion. We will focus on being able to move around the floor with our partners, moving turns and connection.
About the Instructor, Kristen Renshaw
Kristen discovered her passion for ballroom dancing in 2005 after starting at SwingTime Ballroom. She has choreographed countless dances for wedding couples, introduced dozens of people to Ballroom Dancesport competitions, and developed a youth ballroom track for dance students and recreational dancers.
Is jitter bug the same as east coast swing? The jitterbug is very similar to single time east coast swing, but it may include a variety of regional influences.
Do I need a partner? No, you do not need a partner to learn the dance. However, when waiting for a practice partner or instructor, please be patient and continue to practice your part.
