Bel Air, Maryland - On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners voted to provide retention bonuses as part of Resolution 1189-22 Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Amendment. The retention bonus is included in the budget amendment for those employees who are employed with the Town as of June 13, 2022; however, it shall not include any employee who has provided notice that they plan to separate from the Town’s employment in the immediate future. This bonus will be paid to applicable employees on June 24, 2022 and will equate to $2,000 for full-time and $1,000 for part-time employees. Funding from additional revenues as well as expenditure savings affords the Town the opportunity to provide this bonus, according to Ms. Lisa Moody, Director of Finance.
Mayor and Chair of the Board of Town Commissioners Kevin Bianca commended Ms. Moody, and Town Administrator, Mr. L. Jesse Bane, for their diligence and financial expertise in helping to make this retention bonus happen. Mayor Bianca went on to say, that this bonus is “well deserved” and he “hopes that it encourages the employees of the Town of Bel Air, in all departments, to continue working hard to keep the Town operating at full capacity during these difficult and uncertain financial times.”
