A year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Town Bel Air's incorporation in 1874 commenced in January of 2024. A volunteer committee, made up of Town staff, leaders of nonprofit organizations and citizens, has been planning events and other commemorations of the 150th, such as the hanging of anniversary banners on Main Street in January, lighting the Town green in April, the "Then and Now" showcase at the Armory on April 27 and the opening of a time capsule in Shamrock Park on July 4.
You can stay up to date with events related to the 150th, as well as view photos and read stories that capture Bel Air's rich history, by visiting the Bel Air 150 page on the Town website. Anyone who wants to host their own anniversary celebration can give us the details via this link on the Bel Air 150 page; we can then help publicize it through the Town's online calendar. Information regarding the anniversary also will be posted on the Town's social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.
Finally, we have an anniversary logo, shown here, that was designed by Nate Dorrell, a graduate of The John Carroll School in Bel Air. We encourage people to use it in any promotional materials related to the 150th. Use the email below to request a high-resolution copy of the logo.
