One of Bel Air's signature springtime events, the 2025 Bel Air Kite Festival, has been rescheduled to Sunday April 13 because of inclement weather.
The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Rockfield Park athletic fields. Admission is free, and we will give out free kites -- sponsored by APG Federal Credit Union -- while supplies last. The packaging for the free kites will include a special insert paying tribute to the late co-founder of the Kite Festival, Allen E. Ault. Mr. Ault, who died in May of 2024 at the age of 88, founded the festival with Chris Schlehr, the Bel Air town administrator at the time, and Paul Hines, who died in 2007.
The first Kite Festival was held on April 15, 2006.
